The first step is to gain some understanding about safety in and around body of water (Swimming pool, lake, river, sea, etc). The seminar will expose participants to the safety aspect of water activities. This include recognizing signs of drowning and rescue procedures. At the end of the seminar, participants would have an Aquatic Safety appreciation. (Duration: 2 hours) (Target Audience: Parents/Guardians and Teachers. Students are welcomed)
Aquatic Orientation (Introductory session)
The Program starts with an orientation session for students and their respective teachers/guardians. The objective of the introductory session is to provide familiarization to the Aquatic Center, the Instructors/Coaches as well as a preview of the curriculum. The session will expose participants to the safety procedure and practice at the center as well as the training methods used for the eventual Aqua Skill module. (Duration: 0.5 day) (Target Audience: Students and Teachers. Parents/Guardians are welcomed)
Teacher's Preparatory Course (Train-the-trainer)
This course is offered for schools that opted for teachers to participate in the students' learning during the Aqua Skills sessions. The teachers will undergo the Aqua skills training module (20 hours) and certified as Aqua Competent, thus enabling them to assist students during the Aqua Skill students. This will also enable schools to enroll physically challenged students into the program. (Duration: 20 Hours) (Target Audience: Teachers. Parents/Guardians are welcomed)
Aqua Skills for Special Child
Sessions will be conducted monthly with each session lasting 2 hours. Maximum of 20 special students can be accommodated but restricted to physically able students only. Physically challenged students must be accompanied by a certified Aqua Competent teacher/parent/guardian at a ratio of 1:1. The number of sessions required will depends on the level of competency expected and/or set by the schools. Our recommendation is to run at minimum 4 sessions to enable the students to gain at least Aquatic Survival skills.
